Was ready to finish my film and get all the exports ready right after completing the comps, but when I read over the brief, I noticed that we needed to create two separate mono WAV files; 1 for dialogue and 1 for SFX and music. This was a problem, as the mix I was using was the original mix from the animatic. I was pretty happy with the sound mixing overall from that animatic and so I never thought about the splitting the two layer, which was a huge oversight in my part and I should’ve been ready for that.
This meant I had to remaster the audio from scratch, I was lucky that I had all the files I needed on my computer, although I needed to redo the clown dialogue as I couldn’t find the audio file I made for the original, which wasn’t a huge issue, but a lot of it was a hindrance. I made sure to add a short intro section of music and end credits, with music provided by Incompotech. I completed the final master this morning and exported the audio into mono WAV files at 48000 kHZ as asked.
I then went on and did the final edit. I pretty much had all the visuals ready to go at this point, working on the timing every time I added a new comped scene over the weeks. I also made sure I synced the audio remaster with the current sync so that I wouldn’t have to go and resync everything in Premiere. This meant I just had to slip the audio files into where the current audio was, and the film was almost ready.
I drew out a title card the other day to put at the beginning where the intro music was, and it fit perfectly. I also made sure to do the credits at the end, and thank my lecturers and classmates for their constant help and support.
That was it. I exported a Master Quicktime with all the required settings, along with a viewing copy with the correct settings. I couldn’t be more happy with how the film looks in the amount of time I made it, definitely the most impressive original piece I’ve produced so far.
