Global Pandemic & Lockdown

There was news over the past few months of a virus going around China which stirred some concern for people but overall we felt pretty safe about the whole thing until recently. Very quickly the COVID-19 Virus went from an epidemic to a world wide pandemic, and although we all have high spirits, it’s become a very scary situation. Cases were showing up in Ireland, small but rapidly growing and so schools and colleges have been closing indefinitely, until this is all over. Our assignment work is now to be done online, which I’m perfectly fine with as I have a home studio to work from.

My parents made sure we went into lockdown early, so my dad had been stocking up on essentials and food for the past few weeks already as he works for the HSE and knew what was coming. It’s early days yet, but I don’t see it stopping soon, and I don’t see us coming out of lockdown for a few months. Although I’m optimistic it won’t come to that.

Glad to say that I have freelance work to keep my head in a normal place, and now more time to complete the animation for my major film.
